DRC Satellite Project Gains Momentum as Fidelity Bank Backs $400 Million Rollout
The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Digital Economy Ministry has sealed a financing pact with Nigeria’s Fidelity Bank to push forward a $400 million satellite program. The deal creates a joint team to nail down technical and financial details, while also opening doors for the bank in the under‑banked Congolese market. With internet penetration at just 30.5% and banking access at 6%, the satellite aims to spark connectivity, education, health and economic growth across the country.
